Transforming Lives

The women in our focus families are often victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, repressed under rituals and responsibilities of their family. They have nowhere or no one to turn to for support, shelter, or family counselling. They stay in their situations to take care of their young children and elderly parents, while being unable to fend for themselves physically, emotionally, and financially.

Women in Need

Swayamsiddha

The women within our focal families frequently find themselves ensnared in the harrowing cycle of domestic violence and sexual abuse, ensconced beneath the weight of familial rituals and obligations. Tragically, they find themselves bereft of avenues for seeking solace, refuge, or familial guidance. Despite their dire circumstances, they remain steadfast, shouldering the burdens of caring for their vulnerable children and elderly kin, all the while grappling with their own physical, emotional, and financial vulnerabilities.

Short Stay Home

For women who have endured the horrors of domestic violence, abandonment, or have bravely escaped from oppressive environments, we offer sanctuary in the form of short-term residences or temporary shelters. We diligently collaborate with these individuals, endeavoring to involve both them and their families in comprehensive counseling sessions. In numerous instances, families lack access to vital counseling services essential for comprehending and resolving domestic discord. Through our intervention, we strive to alleviate their struggles and facilitate reconciliation. Nonetheless, in cases where a woman opts not to return home, we extend the option of long-term residence within our facilities. Here, she can participate in vocational training and employment programs offered by our skill development center, empowering her to achieve financial independence.

Within the past year, a commendable total of 86 women have been successfully rehabilitated through our efforts.

Upskilling and Employment

Our livelihood initiative, ‘Swayamsiddha’, stands as a beacon of empowerment, education, and upliftment for women across diverse rural and tribal communities. Nestled within the remote village of Maval in the Pune district, it serves as a testament to our commitment to fostering positive change at the grassroots level. This project has initiated two dedicated employment centers, offering vocational training in tailoring and stitching, along with abundant work opportunities. These centers serve as the primary income source for numerous women, empowering them economically. Importantly, we prioritize flexibility, allowing women to choose work hours conducive to their household and familial responsibilities, enabling them to strike a harmonious balance between work and home life. This initiative extends its inclusive support to all women seeking employment opportunities, including those residing in our short stay homes. We welcome and empower women from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that they have access to the resources and opportunities needed to thrive and succeed.

Furthermore, recognizing the pressing need for immediate assistance, we have established a dedicated helpline specifically tailored to address the concerns of women in distress. For support, please reach out to us at 9006200210.
